As he readies for his fourth season as the Golden Tornadoes’ head baseball coach, Bobby Alvarez announced this week he’ll be having tryouts at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Lamesa’s Joe Spikes Field.
“One of the first things we’ll be looking for is some guys who’ve got some speed. It’s a different speed than what you’ll see in other sports like football and track,” Alvarez said. “One of the biggest things we’re looking for in baseball is who can go 90 feet the fastest.”
