Local youngsters shined bright at last weekend’s Southwest Hoops Nationals held at Lubbock’s APEX.Lamesa’s Red Storm teams won both the varsity boys and the sixth grade boys divisions, each going 5-0 in in tournament play.“Our guys really played well all weekend. A lot of these guys have been playing together for at least a couple of years,” said Lamesa Coach Steven Carden, a 2007 Lamesa High School graduate.“All of our kids always play hard.”Lamesa’s Red Storm won the varsity boys division by beating Lubbock’s Forrest, 55-38, Rankin, 62-54, West Texas Threat, 84-29.
