Lamesa’s junior high basketball girls opened their seasons here Monday winning two out of their four games against the Denver City Fillies.The Golden Tors won the eighth grade A game, 29-27.“We had a hard time staying ahead throughout the game but our defense showed true at the end. We were able to get steals and pull off the win at the end,” Lamesa Coach Kalli Bryan said.Lamesa won the eighth grade B team game, 22-19.“This was an exciting first game of the season. We saw good things happening out on the court, but there’s still lots of work to do,”
