Klondike’s boys and girls basketball teams each lost their first game but won their second in tournament action at Wellman-Union this past week.
The Lady Cougars were handed a 72-34 loss by Whiteface in their opening game on Thursday.
Klondike trailed by only five points at the half but got outscored 25-10 in the third period and 20-2 in the fourth.
“Whiteface was ranked number five in the state,” Klondike Coach Xavier Elizondo said. “The first half, we played excellent. We came up short in the second.”
