The Klondike basketball girls got their first win of the season Friday evening at Robert Lee where the Cougars held off the Steers, 34-25.
Klondike owned a slim 10-9 lead at the end of the first quarter before opening a 22-12 halftime lead. The Cougars were up 30-21 at the end of the third quarter.
“Our girls came out and played really well tonight, especially for a second game without getting any more practice time than we’ve been able to get,” Klondike Xavier Elizondo said.
“Things are starting to come together for us. This is a good win against a good quality opponent.”
