Coach Dalton DeGraffenreid’s Klondike Cougars continue to act like a ball club which didn’t like staying home from the six-man playoffs a year ago.
DeGraffenreid has used the adjective “hungry” on more than one occasion when it comes to describing his Cougars’ mood.
Those Cougars started feeding some of that appetite Friday night at Klondike by blowing out longtime rival Sands, 46-0, in their Division I District 6A six-man opener.
“Sands is super young but our guys played pretty good again tonight. This game gave us the chance to play a lot of our young kids,” DeGraffenreid said.
