Basketball fans got their money’s worth at Klondike’s Cougar Gymnasium Friday night.
A strong start helped Klondike’s basketball girls hold off Garden City, 45-38.
Klondike’s girls, now 9-12 overall and 4-3 in District 7-1A play, opened an 18-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and were up 24-13 at the half.
“Our girls came out hot tonight before we started getting relaxed – maybe even too relaxed – there in the fourth quarter,” Klondike Coach Xavier Elizondo said.
Garden City outscored the Cougars, 18-10, in that fourth quarter.
