Lamesa’s junior high volleyballers split their matches against the Big Spring Steers here Thursday.
The Golden Tornadoes fell to the Steers on the eighth grade A team level in a tough three-match set, 25-9. 21-25 and 25-27.
“This was certainly a tough loss for us. We came out strong and dominated the first set and we continued to battle in the next two sets,” Coach Liz Castro said.
“Despite the outcome, I’m proud of our girls and the fight that they showed tonight.”
The Golden Tornadoes won the eighth grade B team match, 25-10, 25-13. It was their third win this season.
