Sands’ first-year head football coach Jacob Massey had been hearing about the Mustangs-Klondike Cougar rivalry basically since he first arrived on campus out at Ackerly this past spring.Unfortunately for the Mustang faithful, the Cougars were still doing most of the talking after Thursday’s football title bout.After a relatively close first half, which saw the Cougars lead by only 10 (30-20) at the break, it was all Klondike in the second half, which got cut short after being stopped midway through the fourth quarter, on six-man’s 45-point mercy rule.
