After growing up in Littlefield, Joseph Hood has a good idea of what tradition’s worth. “We always knew we were going to get after it,” said Hood, a 2000 Littlefield High School graduate who helped coach the Wildcats’ receivers and secondary on a team which played for a state championship in 2006. “You might not always have the greatest athletes but as long as you’ve got that kind of mentality then you always give yourself a shot.” Hood, now in his first year as Lamesa High School’s head football coach and 15th year overall as a coach, is determined to bring that kind ...
