Although Golden Tornado head football coach Joseph Hood said this year’s numbers are a little lower than last year, he couldn’t tell it in the enthusiasm during the first week of practice.
“It is what it is,” Hood said of this week’s turnout of about 70 players each evening for practice.
“The kids we have out are the ones who want to represent our program and our community, so that’s who we’re moving forward with.”
Hood believes it’s a big plus to be coming off their first trip to the football playoffs in 18 years.
