Most high school athletes look at a chance to compete on the state level as a dream come true all in its own.
For Lamesa High School’s Bryan Quinteros, that dream will not be completed until he is presented the gold at Saturday’s Texas State High School Powerlifting Championships at Abilene’s Expo Center.
He will be competing in the 123-pound weight class, where he was the state runner-up last year.
“Bryan’s been first at every one of his meets so far this year, so hopefully he will be first one more time this weekend,” said Mario Gonzales, Lamesa High School power lifting coach.
