The Golden Tornadoes’ young baseball squad could be starting to mature at just the right time.
Take away a slow start on Monday evening and Coach Bobby Alvarez’s team might have knocked off the always-tough Bushland Falcons. A big five-run first inning, however, helped the Falcons hold off Lamesa, 11-7.
“After giving up that five-spot there in the first inning, our guys competed really well tonight. Hopefully, this was another sign that we’re growing up as a team, as that was against the No. 14 team in the state in 3A baseball,” Coach Alvarez said.
