The District 3-3A JV Tennis Tournament was held this past Saturday at Brownfield, with one Golden Tor bringing home a medal.
Sophomore Valirea Escobedo got third place in girls singles after winning three out of her four matches. Escobedo opened the tournament by beating a Denver City player 8-4. She then beat teammate Lillian Cortez, a freshman, 8-2. After losing her semi-final match to a Littlefield player, 8-4, Escobedo beat Littlefield’s No. 2, 8-6, in the thirdplace match.
