Lamesa’s eighth grade A football team celebrated its first win of the season Tuesday evening at Levelland, beating the Loboes, 20-16. Coach Bobby Alvarez said the contest was won in the trenches. “It was just a great job by our offensive and defensive lines,” Alvarez said. “Our guys played a tough game. We’re very proud of these kids for their effort that they played with.
