Lamesa’s eighth grade girls’ B basketball team brought home the consolation championship from the Andrews Tournament this past weekend.
After losing their first game to Andrews, 23-19, the Golden Tornadoes won their next two games, beating Monahans, 27-12, and Greenwood, 24-15.
“After losing a heart breaker in our first game, our girls did a good job of bouncing back and finishing strong,” Coach Liz Castro said.
The team is now 10-1 on the year.
