Following last February’s biennial UIL realignment and reclassification the Coyotes were assigned to Region I for the first time since 2015
Not only did the Coyotes go 11-3 and win a 13th straight district championship, they went four rounds deep in the playoffs before falling to eventual state champion Sterling City in the state semi-finals, 48-40 in overtime. Two of Borden County’s three losses this season were to Sterling City by a combined total of 12 points.
