Dawson High School’s girls basketball team lost their second game of the season to Lubbock Talkington, 52-25, Tuesday evening in the Hub City but that didn’t keep them from coming home with something to smile about. “We scored more points this time out. Plus, we had more girls involved in our scoring,” Dawson Superintendent Layne Sheets said. Sophomore Leslie Armendariz had 20 points while freshmen Alexis Armendariz and Jazmine Duvall had three points each for Dawson. “It’s going to take us a while but the progress is there,” Sheets said. “Our girls are playing hard. Right now, they seem like they’re enjoying competing.
