Two players from Lamesa and the surrounding area have been honored for their success both on the football field this past fall and in the classroom as well.
Lamesa’s Clayton Culp and Sands High School’s Landon Morrow both have been selected to the Texas High School Coaches Association’s (THSCA) Academic All-State Football Teams for 2018.
Culp, a senior defensive end and tight end for the Golden Tornadoes this past fall, has received honorable mention Academic All-State recognition.
Morrow, an all-around senior standout for the Sands Mustangs who earned first-team all-district honors as a special teams player, was recognized with second-team Academic All-State honors.
