Ranked among the top 20 teams in the state, the Borden County boys captured a 50-31 win over Klondike in District 8-1A action on Tuesday night.
“It was a hard-fought battle,” Borden Coach Bubba Edwards said after the game.
“We were able to play really good defense. It was nice to be able to get our first district win, especially on the road against Klondike.”
The Coyotes jumped out to a 14-8 lead after one quarter and led 25-14 at halftime. Borden County outscored the Cougars 12-10 in the third quarter to take a 37-24 lead going into the final period.
