For 40 minutes Saturday night at Sweetwater it appeared the Borden County Coyotes could be making a return to the six-man state championship football game.
But with time expiring, the Sterling City Eagles tied Saturday’s state semifinal game at Sweetwater and sent the contest into overtime.
The extra period with a 33-yard touchdown run propelled the top-ranked Eagles to a nail-biting 48-40 victory over the No. 2 Coyotes.
