The Sands Mustangs and Borden County Coyotes split their District 7-1A basketball doubleheader Monday evening out at Gail.
Having already clinched the district girls championship, Sands finished 10-0 in league play after rolling past Borden County, 54-27.
“Our girls played really good tonight. We just found out that morning that we were going to play that night so we were real proud of our girls’ mental toughness and grit,” Sands Coach Ben Connell said.
The game was moved to Monday due to the forecast for icy weather on Tuesday.
The Mustang girls are now 30-5 on the year.
