Borden County’s boys basketball team moved into sole possession of second place in the District 8-1A standings with a 51-34 win over Garden City on Tuesday evening at Gail.
The Coyotes jumped out to a 33-15 lead in the first half with the help of six three-pointers.
“I thought our kids came out with a little sense of rivalry,” said Borden County Coach Bubba Edwards. “We got after them and shot the ball really well.”
It was Garden City that knocked Borden County out of the six-man football playoffs this past season.
“They are one of the better teams in the district,” Edwards said.
