The Klondike Cougars split their season-opening varsity volleyball doubleheader Tuesday evening at Big Spring. The Cougars topped Class 2A Forsan, 25-8, 25-23 and 25-10, in their opening match at Steer Gym. Klondike fell to 4A Big Spring in four sets, 25-20, 25-23, 11-25 and 25-19 in their second match on opening day. Klondike’s JV volleyballers also split their first two matches of their season Tuesday at Big Spring. After spiking the Forsan Buffaloes, 25-13, 25-20, in their opener, the Cougars’ JV lost to 4A Big Spring in two sets, 25-12 and 25-20.
