Preparing to start the playoffs later this week, Klondike’s District 3-1A’s volleyball champions got something of a wake-up call Tuesday night at Loraine.
The Cougars saw their 11-match win streak snapped by Class 2A Albany in three straight sets, 25-17, 25-21 and 25-14.
“You could tell that our girls were a little rusty. We hadn’t played in over a week,” Klondike Coach Eva Myers said.
“They’re a 2A team but, like we told our girls after tonight’s match, the next time we go somewhere and play like this we’ll stay home after we go back home.”
Bella Stevens led the Cougars with eight kills,
