Jay Coleman, a perennial front-runner in the Lamesa Press-Reporter’s annual football contest, has started the 2020 season at the front of the pack.
Coleman took top honors in the first week of the competition, picking the correct winners in 11 of the 12 games to win the top weekly prize of $20.
Luis Gonzales and Douglas Baker both finished right behind Coleman with 10-2 records for the first week. Guessing 42 total points on the tie-breaker game, which saw San Angelo Lake View beat Lamesa by a score of 35-8, Gonzales picks up $15 for second place. Baker’s guess of 45 points ...
