Both Borden County’s hoop squads continue to be state-ranked and the Klondike Cougars are the latest believers in the Coyotes’ lofty billing.
A quick start and a strong finish helped the No. 22 Borden County girls knock off Klondike, 48-25. The Coyote girls, 14-4 overall and 5-1 in District 8-1A, jumped out to a 17-2 first quarter lead and outscored the Cougars 14-6 in the fourth quarter.
“Defensively, we didn’t look too bad but we just didn’t do much on the offense end,” BC Coach Lindsey Schmidt said. “I think we made only one field goal in the third quarter.”
