The Borden County Coyotes are 14th in the latest Class 1A girls basketball state ranking and Coach Lindsey Schmidt’s hoopsters are looking like a squad worthy of that respect.
The Coyotes are off to a 3-1 start after thumping Class 2A Ralls, 102-40, Saturday at Gail.
That was Schmidt’s first time to have her team surpass the century mark in her 15 years as a high school coach.
“Coach (Rusty) Rainbolt’s brought in some drills which are designed to help our girls run at a faster tempo. Our girls are enjoying it,” Schmidt said of her new assistant coach.
