Despite frigid conditions here Monday, the District 8A Cross Country Championship meet was still run at Lamesa’s Forrest Park. As a result, the Sands Mustangs, Borden County Coyotes and Klondike Cougars will be running Nov. 7 in the Region I-IA Championships at Lubbock’s Mae Simmons Park. The top 10 individual finishers and top two teams in each division at the district meet advance to regionals. The District 8A meet turned out being the Texas two-step for the Sands Mustangs, who sped off with both the boys and girls team championships.
