After leading the Golden Tors to one of their better seasons on the baseball diamond in a quarter of a century, Bobby Alvarez is returning to an area where he spent most of his career. Alvarez told the Lamesa Press-Reporter this past week that he’s leaving the Golden Tornadoes to take an assistant high school baseball coaching job in addition to coaching junior high football and basketball at Class 4A Greenwood near Midland.
