For the second weekend in a row, Borden County’s Zane Allen proved that he can play ball with the big boys. This past Saturday, Allen helped the Red team beat the Blue, 7-4, in the Greater West Texas Baseball Coaches Association’s Class 1A to 4A all-star game at Lubbock Cooper. Allen, a second-team all-stater, reached base in both of his at-bats. He got hit by a pitch in the first inning and walked in the sixth inning. Allen ended up scoring a run in the sixth.
