The Sands Mustangs swept the Grady Wildcats in their District 7-1A basketball twinbill Friday at Ackerly.
The seventh-ranked Sands girls continued their quest for the district by thumping Grady, 49-23. It was their seventh straight district win without a loss.
“Jumping out 14-2 in that first quarter, our girls just played real good defense again tonight,” Sands Coach Ben Connell said.
Now 27-3 for the season, the Mustangs led 29-10 at the half and 36-19 at the end of the third quarter.
