A storm like the one that hit Lamesa last Saturday – particularly the intense rainfall in a short period of time – is not often seen in West Texas. In fact, the rate of rainfall was capturing the attention of National Weather Service (NWS) personnel in both Lubbock and Midland even as it was happening.
