After finishing among Region Top 10 golfers as a high school freshman, Sands’ Lakyn Sandlin couldn’t help but think she’d get to state in that sport someday. Without COVID-19, there’s a good chance that Sandlin would have made it to state as a sophomore last year. Instead, the season was canceled.
