The Sands Mustangs continue to be recognized among this state’s best Class 1A girls basketball teams, ranked 10th in this week’s state poll.
Coach Ben Connell’s ladies continued playing like a Top-10 team Tuesday evening at Wink, rolling past the Wildcats, 71-36.
“Our girls came out hot. We hit like 12 threes tonight. We haven’t shot that well all year,” Connell said. “Wink’s going to have a good team. They’ve got athletes. They already went to state this year in cross country and volleyball. They’re just now getting out of volleyball. They’re going to be really dangerous come January.”
