A retirement reception was held for Janie Rios on Thursday afternoon at the West Texas Opportunities building. Rios has worked at West Texas Opportunities for 30 years and her last day was on Aug. 31. She started out as a volunteer for Head Start for three years until she was finally asked if she wanted to be a day care provider. On Sept. 1, 1989 she became a full-time employee with the day care.
