It was very much a game of free throws when Lamesa High School’s girls faced Lubbock Estacado on Tuesday in District 3-4A basketball action.
Unfortunately, Lamesa’s girls wound up on the short side of both the free throws and total score in a 66-44 loss at Lubbock.
Combined, the two teams shot a total of 77 free throws, with Lamesa going 22-of-24 from the stripe while Estacado made 29 of 43.
Exactly half of the Golden Tornadoes’ points came from free throws.
Surprisingly, only two Lamesa players and one from Estacado fouled out before the game was over.
Lamesa jumped out to a 10-8 lead ...
