Two local cotton producers were among delegation of Plains Cotton Growers (PCG) staff members and volunteer leaders who traveled to Washington, DC last week and visited with more than 25 Congressional offices and agencies.
A Texas Highway Patrol trooper works at the scene of a collision about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the west intersection of U.S. Highway 180 and Farm Road 829 some six miles west of Lamesa. The crash apparently involved three sand trans-port trucks. Two other single-vehicle rollover accidents occurred along Highway 180 west of Lamesa earlier in the day Tuesday. At least one person was taken to the hospital from one of those earlier accidents.

An information night for parents of children with dyslexia is being hosted by the Lamesa school district next Monday, March 8, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the North Elementary cafeteria.
The monthly Teen Court session will be next Monday, March 9, according to Shelley Barron, Teen Court coordinator.
Each year, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Midland conducts Skywarn severe weather spotter training courses across portions of west Texas and southeast New Mexico.
