Jett Napper with the Lamesa FFA took home grand champion honors with his medium wool entry in the lamb show which wrapped up about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson County Junior Livestock Show.

SEMINOLE – The Texas Associated Press released an article last month stating that over 1,600 students in Lea County, NM, have enrolled in Texas schools to attend class in person.

SEMINOLE – Sometimes water bills can fluctuate from month to month, but a Seminole resident recently received one from the city beyond belief, a whopping $538,725.05.
ANDREWS – The spring fire season doesn’t begin until the end of next month, but the potential exists for a severe season like 2011, according to Andrews County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Cook.

Klondike FFA member Kylar Pepper and Lamesa FFA member Mitchell Carpenter were each presented with a $1,500 scholarship on Friday during the annual Dawson County Junior Livestock Show. Pepper received a scholarship established last year in memory of Gaston and Iva Martin and their descendants. Carpenter was awarded a scholarship sponsored by a local buyers club named The Honey Bees. Several governmental entities around the area enjoyed bigger paychecks from the Texas Comptroller’s office this past week, Dawson County and the City of Lamesa were not among them.
