Ty Whisenant graduated with a M.D. and Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from Texas Tech University Health Science Center on May 20. Whisenant is the grandson of Freda Whisenant of Lamesa and the late Bill Whisenant. He is the son of Lyndon Whisenant of Mansfield, who was a 1975 graduate of Lamesa High School, and Tana Gunter of Canyon. Whisenant will be doing his residency in Lubbock at TTHSC in internal medicine for three years, followed by another three years in cardiology and two years in specialty cardiac electro-physiology.
