Officials with the Mesa Underground Water Conservation District are hoping the final taxable property values for the district will end up near the preliminary figures recently issued by the Dawson County Central Appraisal District.Jacob Hernandez, the water district’s general manager, told members of the board during their regular meeting Wednesday that the water district’s preliminary net taxable property values have been listed at just over $1.01 billion.That represents a jump of almost $200 million from last year’s preliminary values received from the appraisal district.Final values, which the water district can use in setting its tax rate, are not expected to ...
