The process is underway for establishing new desired future conditions (DFC) for the Ogallala Aquifer beneath a large portion of the Texas South Plains.
That process was the focus of a report to the directors of the Mesa Underground Water Conservation District by General Manager Jacob Hernandez during the board’s regular monthly meeting Wednesday morning.
The DFC for the statedesignated Groundwater Management Area 2 (GMA 2) is set to be adopted in January of 2022, Hernandez said as he discussed a recent GMA 2 meeting.
