Seven permits for new water wells were approved by directors of the Mesa Underground Water Conservation during their regular meeting last week.
Six of those permits were for new irrigation wells, including two for Hutch Hawkins, two for Shawn Holladay, one for Tom and Vicki Anderson, and one for Ira Royce Dyess.
One permit for a domestic well was approved for Key Farms.
District Manager Jacob Hernandez informed the board that he will be meeting with representatives of two neighboring groundwater districts to discuss ways in which they possibly can operate in similar fashion with each other.
