My name is Wally Garza and I am running as a Republican candidate in the primary election for sheriff of Dawson County in March of 2024.I am married to my wife of almost 28 years, Melody Renee Garza. We have two sons, Tyler and Mark.I am a lifelong resident of Lamesa, Dawson County and a 1990 graduate of Lamesa High School. In November of 1991, my law enforcement career began with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Huntsville, Texas. After some time, I was able to transfer back to Lamesa to help open a new correctional facility, Smith Unit.
