Seven military veterans and the widow of a Vietnamera vet came together Tuesday night to begin the process of re-establishing a veterans’ office here.It was their first meeting, but not their last. They scheduled their next gathering for 6:30 p.m., Aug. 19 again at the Second Baptist Church’s Fellowship Hall at 1705 N Bryan Ave.“This is something Lamesa absolutely needs,” said U.S. Army Veteran and City Council member James Grayson, the meeting’s organizer. “We’ve got seven vets here and I know we’ve got about 100 living here.“Hopefully, at the next meeting we will have double the numbers (of those attending).
