The United Fund started late in the season due to the pandemic, but is steadily edging up to its goal of raising $60,000 to support three non-profit organizations.
The campaign is twothirds of the way to reaching its goal, with $40,325 raised so far.
“I’m surprised we’re doing this well, believe it or not, because it’s been such a bad year; a horrible year for everybody,” said Dale Hansard, campaign chairman.
If it reaches the goal, the fund will distribute $29,000 to the Lamesa Boys and Girls Club, $25,000 for the Dawson County Senior Citizens Center, and $1,000 to the Dawson County Teen ...
