United Fund organizers are calling it quits in their efforts to raise $60,000 in donations to support three non-profit groups benefiting local children and senior citizens.
Organizers came near their goal by raising $47,251 after several months of campaigning for contributions.
They fell short of their goal by about $12,750.
“We’re going to meet with the board to see how we’re going to disperse the funds because we came up short,” said Dale Hansard, campaign chairman. “We missed it, but we didn’t miss it by as much as we thought we would.”
