Two construction workers hurt in flash fire Saturday

Two workers were airlifted to Lubbock after suffering serious burns Saturday afternoon in what initially was reported as an explosion in the construction area at Lamesa High School. Lamesa Fire Chief Larry Duyck said the two men, both from Abilene, are expected to recover but at least one likely faces an extended hospital stay. One of the men, age 25, suffered burns over about 43 percent of his body, according to Duyck.
