Lamesa Economic Development will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday for the planned new Toot’n Totum travel center here.The event will be held at 11 a.m. at the construction site located at the northeast corner of Hwy. 87 and N. 22nd St., just south of the Mitch Hall auto dealership.“The public is welcome, and there will be a small table of refreshments,” said Mona Ferguson, who was named this past week as the new executive director of Lamesa Economic Development.Groundwork recently began at the site which will include a 7,785-square-foot building and other amenities on the 6.7-acre lot.The facility ...
