For the first time in more than two months, movies will be back on the big screen in Lamesa this coming weekend. Mike Roy, manager of Lamesa’s non-profit Movieland Theater, said they will reopen Friday evening after being closed since mid-March as a result of the state’s COVID-19 restrictions. “We’ve got a green light for Friday,” Roy said Tuesday. “It’s been a long time coming but hopefully this will help get things back to normal.” Due to the ongoing concerns and restrictions related to the coronavirus, however, some things will still be a bit different, at least for awhile.
